Getting here... by public transport Via Train: Victoria Park on the Epping/Hurtsbridge line is the closest railway station. Buses 200, 201, 205 and 207 run along Johnson Street.
Via Bike: The Capital City cycling and walking path passes the site.
Via Bus: Catch the Garden City/Bulleen Bus 207 which leaves from the city in Lonsdale St, and runs along Johnson St. Get off at Clarke Street Bus Stop. (Make sure you are going in the Kew Junction direction). Turn left from Clarke Street into St. Heliers and follow the sign to The Collingwood Children’s Farm. The entrance gates of the Convent are on the left before you reach the Farm.
Parking: Park in St Heliers St if you can, but note time restrictions, as parking officers are vigilant. The alternative is to park opposite the Convent in the car park. You will need $4 in coins.
Inside the Convent Grounds: Turn right once inside the gate, walk past the Bakery (if you can!) and follow the signs to the Wellbeing Wing in the main Convent Building (1st floor). Walk through the Wellbeing Wing & soak up the atmosphere. At the end of the hall, turn right. We are the last door on the right in the South Wing.
Abbotsford Convent is a thriving, vibrant community of artists, writers, foodies, actors, musicians and arts organizations. When you visit the Melbourne Art Therapy Studio, you can also go to one of the wonderful cafes for a coffee and a meal, wander around and take in the sights and sounds of the stunning gardens and its inhabitants. If you’re here on a weekend, you might catch the Artist’s Market, Farmer’s Market, Maker’s Market or the Shirt and Skirt Market.
