Turning poetry and music into art images – 10 week Group exploring how the expressive language of poetry, music and art making can interact and work together.

“Painting is poetry which is seen and not heard, and poetry is a painting which is heard and not seen”
Leonardo Da Vinci

This ten week group will provide a supportive space from which to explore and reflect on the creative self.  It will be a journey of self discovery.  Expression will be inspired through visualisation, poetry, music and art making.  Participants will be guided through art making tasks that explore how poetry and music can awaken images.  Art works will be created which document spontaneous responses to particular pieces of poetry and music.  A variety of themes will be explored including inner/outer experiences, relationships, hopes, dreams, fears, self as landscape.  Group art works will also be constructed.  Other aspects of the ten week creative journey will include spontaneous movement to music and learning how to dialogue with images in order to gain insight and confidence.  The aim of the group will be personal growth through engaging in creative experiences that provide avenues for expressing, exploring and resolving feelings.  No experience with poetry or art making is necessary as it will be a fresh journey of discovery and spontaneity.

All materials supplied. Spaces are limited!
